Cleaning Natural with Lemons

  Mitch  |    06 June 2014  |    House Cleaning Tips,  |    Savannah

There are many different cleaning uses for lemon. Below are some of my favorite and proven tips for using lemons in your home.

    • Polish copper by rubbing it with a lemon juice soaked cloth and buffing it dry.
    • Faucets with lime scale, hard water stains, and soap residue, try rubbing lemons over to get rid of them.
    • Whiten tennis shoes by spraying them with lemon juice and placing them in the sun
    • Boost your laundry detergent’s power by adding lemon juice to a wash cycle for fresh smelling laundry.
    • For ink spots on clothing, apply lots of lemon juice to the stain as soon as possible. Wash the garment in normal cycle in cold water.
    • Grind lemons through the garbage disposal to get rid of nasty odors and freshen the drain.
    • Add half a lemon to the dishwasher load for sparkling spot-free clean smelling dishes.
    • All-purpose cleaning solution: combine lemon juice, vinegar and water in a spray bottle.
    • Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle baking soda on the cut section. Use the lemon to scrub dishes, surfaces, and stains.
    • Combine 1 part lemon juice with 2 parts olive oil and use as a natural furniture polish.
    • Clean your windows and glass by rubbing straight lemon juice on them and then buffing dry with newspapers.
    • Train your barking dog  to stop by giving him/her a squirt of lemon juice in their mouths.
