Great Soldiers turned Entrepreneurs

America has a long and rich history of soldiers becoming entrepreneurs. What could be more American than first voluntarily protecting this country, and then embarking on the hallmark American profession of free trade?

Huffington Post recently did an article about Navy SEAL turned entrepreneur Jeff Boss, and in the article, they asked him about how a background as a Navy SEAL prepared him for business. Amongst his many great responses was what he had to say about overarching career advice. He said, "Don't quit. Ever." Doesn't that just sum it up?

A soldier turned politician Winston Churchill once gave one of the greatest, and shortest commencement speeches ever when he told the graduating seniors that the key to success was to "never, never, never, never, never give up."

Grit

Pyschologist Angela Duckworth wrote a great book called, "Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance". If you haven't read it, it's a great read, and can be found here on Amazon.  In the book, she details what differentiates the winners and the losers, and it's grit. Who makes it through West Point? The gritty ones, the scrappers, the fighters.

When we're looking around for franchisees, that's what we're looking for; grit. When you bring yourself into entrepreneurism, you are exposing yourself to the elements of the market. No longer are you shielded by your bosses and superiors.

Ultimately, we don't know how money you can make. We weren't there when you had tough calls in your life. When the going got tough, did you start thinking about how to explain yourself, or did you start charging forward? In this industry, that is what will define you. For us, that's what is exciting! Yes, branding is important. Yes, having systems in place is important. Yes, hiring the right people is important. But, that all being said, grit still plays a big role. Your success isn't out of your hands. There's no McDonald's that's going to beat you regardless. You can be #1 in your market. You just have to resolve yourself to it.

I want YOU for You've Got Maids

You've Got Maids loves its veteran franchisees. Maybe that's why we were recognized as one of Top 100 Franchises for Veterans by Franchise Business Review.

Americans who have set time aside in their early life to protect and defend this great country are exactly the sort of people we want to do business with and to help build money machines for their families. Furthermore, if the military teaches nothing else, it teaches grit. That's why we offer a considerable discount on the initial expenses to the franchisor to all veterans of the U.S. Military. If you're interested, click the link below, fill out our form, and a development advisor will get back to you as soon as possible. We're looking forward to meeting you.
