Thanksgiving Storage Ideas

Thanksgiving brings about a beautiful time of the year. Fall colors grace the leaves of trees, and delicious seasonal food fills the home. You may be starting to create your holiday menu, and with that - consider how you will store it afterwards before you visit the grocery store. Purchasing space-saving storage solutions beforehand will make the clean up all the more easier.

At You've Got Maids our goal is to eliminate the every day stress that you may encounter, we want to entirely remove that from your train of thought. A fridge that has been stuffed too full of great meals is an example of a stress that we can easily remove for you. Let us do the cleaning for you after your holiday meal, we'll even make sure to clean your fridge if you request that service.

The Thanksgiving Process

1. Prepare your fridge for the holiday by emptying it of everything that you won't be needing during the holiday. Use up all of that cheese, lunch meat, and drink those drinks that take up nearly an entire shelf of their own.

2. Purchase fridge-safe storage containers, preferably of the stackable variety for additional space saving points.

3. Don't be afraid to store your leftovers while they are still warm. They won't significantly warm the fridge up to the point where they become unsafe, contrary to popular belief. Feel free to store them as soon as you can manage to get off the couch and to the fridge! That's no mere feat after a great Thanksgiving dinner.

4. Freeze everything that won't easily fit into your fridge.

5. Remember to safely reheat the food items to the proper temperature before serving them for a second time.
