What Type of Lights Should You Buy?

LED's use significantly more energy than the traditional incandescent light bulb that you may remember from years past. If you were to put a number on it, you'd soon realize that LED lights use energy roughly 90% more efficiently. Incadescent lights create light by creating heat that is then focused into light by the lightbulb filament. LED's don't need to create heat in order to create light, which saves a ton of energy in the process. Save yourself money, and make an effort to prevent the excess use of energy. Try out LED bulbs this year and take your part in making a difference.

LED Rope Lights - These are perfect for lining a path to your home, or even your windows. They're easy to put up; but, due to their cost - it's best to use them for smaller areas that need uniform coverage. They don't look quite as traditionally pretty as the LED Mini Lights, but your opinion may differ.

Net Lights - These lights are already consistently spaced apart before you ever even put them up. If you have shrubs, trees, or any other plant stable enough to hold the weight of lights, all you have to do is plug the lights in and toss them over the stationary object that you want to light up your yard!

Projector LED Spotlights - These lights are the ultimate holiday time saving device of the 20th century. You heard it here first! These lights are by far the simplest, best bang for your buck lights. They are extremely easy to install, you usually only have to run an extension cord from an outlet to the projector placed in your yard -and, voila! Your holiday lights will be up faster than anyone else on your block. However, they don't look quite as magical or unique as the traditional string lights do.

Check the bulb spacing! - If you want to have a tree that shines as brightly as the North Star, look for strands of lights that average 200-300 lights per vertical feet of your display. For an average amount of lighting per square inch, shoot for about 100 lights per vertical feet.

Trees - Dense trees will always require more lights to visibly stand out. If you have a dense tree in your yard, make sure to put an extra strand or two of lights on it.
