No, you won't be cleaning houses. Have franchisees ever cleaned? Absolutely. When we started the first office in Orlando, FL I cleaned houses right along with Founders Frank & Cynthia Berger. It's humbling, hard work, and we garnered an appreciation for the work our maids do every day. That being said, the owners job is to lead, and you just can't lead and clean at the same time.
Have you ever lead before? It can be daunting if you've never done it before. Many aspiring entrepreneurs are nervous about the idea of their first customer complaint, their first difficult employee interaction, and so on. That's why franchising is such a great idea. Firstly, you have systems to rest on, and to build from. As such, you're starting with roots in the ground, a cornerstone upon which to build to your money machine. Furthermore, when these trying situations occur, you have support. You can reach out to headquarters and ask for advice, you can think back to your training at headquarters with the Founders and staff, you can check best practices in the internal Maid University section for franchisees, and you can also reach out to your fellow franchisees in the You've Got Maids franchise family. Simply put, you're not totally on your own, figuring out plays while the game is already playing out.

Yep, really really. The general can't lead from the trenches, the coach can't lead from the court, and you have to be above your business to build it. Interested in learning the way You've Got Maids cleans? Well, from the day you sign on as a franchisee, you'll have access to Maid University. The undergraduate portion (that's the portion for the team), will have everything you need to know from Cleaning 101 - Bathrooms to how to clean light fixtures, it's all in there, and in spanish too. We encourage our franchisees to watch the videos, take the quizzes, and practice on your own house (if you feel the need). Otherwise, all you need is the knowledge, and eventually you'll just need an office manager who has the knowledge.
