GREEN CLEANING TIP - BLEACH SUBSTITUTE

  admin  |    21 August 2009  |    House Cleaning Tips

If you're looking for a bleach substitute, clean with hydrogen peroxide, the inexpensive stuff you get at the drugstore. It's nontoxic, so when you flush it down with the rest of your waste water, you're not flushing phosphates and toxins into our streams and water supply.

I mainly use it for two things: laundry and to kill mold and mildew in the shower. You can put it in a spray bottle, but it needs to stay in a dark (opaque) bottle in order to stay active.
