Sometimes having a kitchen smell can be once of the best things you can think, I am thinking of baked goods around the holidays or maybe a Turkey dinner. These smells are quintessential to the holiday season, but what about the rest of you year? Or dare I say, a burnt meal? Is it possible to get rid of the overpowering smell of a curry dish gone bad? We have some tips that will help your house to stay fresh.
Feel free to completely ignore these tips for delicious smelling foods like pies and cookies!
First, it is very useful to make sure that you close the doors that lead to your bedrooms because the fabric can hold onto the smell.
Second, open up your windows! Keep those kitchen windows open and turn on the stove vent to make sure that the smell will leave as soon as possible.
Third, leave out baking soda. Baking soda naturally absorbs smells and will help pull the smell out of the room.
Fourth, keeping the smell from ruminating and "ripening" as some might say is important. Don't put off cleaning tomorrow if you can get it done today.
Fifth, if all else fails and you cannot remove the smell then cook up a batch of cookies or pie and that will add a new smell into the air. Even if doesn't get rid of the smell, at least you will have some treats and it's hard to be upset when you have a batch of cookies!
