com·mod·i·ty: an article of trade or commerce, esp. a product as distinguished from a service.
According to Webster the very act of providing a service, like residential home cleaning, precludes a professional maid service from being a commodity. Yet our franchise partners speak with commodity buyers every day. Human beings are not commodities. Of course for God and the blind eyes of justice we are all equals, but the reality is we each bring different skills, experience & abilities to the table. Therefore if human beings are not commodities, and maid services are maid up with different human beings, then residential home cleaning can not be a commodity.
A commodity purchasing consumers duty is to identify companies that provide the lowest price products. Sugar is sugar. Oil is oil. However, maid service can never be a commodity. It is an extremely personalized service.
Clients authorize their home cleaners to clean parts of their homes that they wouldn’t invite their friends into. Most of You’ve Got MAIDS Clients entrust us keys to their homes so we can clean it in their absence. There is a great deal of trust placed on our Franchise Partners and our clients compensate us for being discerning.
